To ensure the best possible fit, it is very important that the measurements are taken with precision.
We recommend that you take these measurements whilst wearing the riding or hunting breeches or jodphurs that you normally use. It is also advisable to have someone assist you when measuring your leg.
A linen tailor's tape is best used for these measurements .
( 1 ) The first measurement to take is the length of your foot, to do this easily, place your heel against the base of a wall and either make a small mark on the floor at the end of your big toe or place an object in this position, then take the measurement from the wall to this point, and compare the measurement with the table of sizes in this section. This will give you your shoe size.
( 2 ) The next measurement is taken around the ball of the foot, this is the widest part of your foot and located at the base of the toes, corresponding to (GD) on our illustration. Please ensure that the measurement is AROUND the foot and not just across it.
( 3 ) The one measurement taken around your instep, please place the tape around the thickest part of your foot, this is the position shown as (GCP) on the illustration.
( 4 ) From the floor please measure up the leg 10 cms (4 inches) and take the measurement around the leg, repeating this operation every 5 cms (2 inches) up the leg as per the illustration, the measurements should be repeated up to the knee.
( 5 ) To determine the required height of the boot, please bend your knee forward to the postion you would adopt whilst riding, then have the measurement taken from the crease behind your knee measuring along the profil of the back of the leg to the floor. If you already have a pair of boots you can check your height measurement by measuring up the back seam of the boot from the top of the heel. If these boots were a comfortable fit then the measurement should not be disimilar from the one you have taken. This is the (HB) mesurement on our illustration.
Please repeat these measurements on your other leg and send us these with your order
.
